In the heart of Paris, 10 minutes’ walk from the Champs-Elysées, a hidden artistic treasure is now open to the public – the Cabinet of Curiosities of the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild. Where TheWaysBeyond is honoured to welcome you in small groups and to offer the lucky visitors a unique experience of entering the intimacy of the Parisian high Society of the 19th cent. In a magnificent 18th-century-style Parisian town house, you will discover the rare objects gathered in the 19th century by Baron Salomon de Rothschild and his wife, Baroness Adèle de Rothschild. Over the course of one hour, a professional guide will help you discover the beauty of artworks by Delacroix or Rodin, astonishing Chinese jades, precious weapons, tapestry and stained-glass windows. More than a simple tour, travelers will also visit both gardens of the house: the front garden, a rare peace haven for the public in the centre of the 8th district, and the Baroness’s private garden, the so-called “Jardin aux Biches” (the Deer Garden).
The visit will end up 2 steps away from the mansion with a glass of wine in an exquisite wine cellar specialized in Grand Crus, host of some vintage bottles of Mouton Rothschild and Lafite Rothschild.
